Restricted grazing and soaked haylage fed in a trickle net
Dennis
Dennis, as he’s known at home, has been a big part of Kate’s team for the last 17 years. He regularly competed at top level Internationally, completing Burghley 5* in 2010. He is now retired, and only in light work to keep him happy. He is prone to weight gain and is managed carefully with the help of a calorie-controlled diet, which still provides essential nutrients and quality protein for his general health.

Cyril is the superstar of the yard. Kate has owned him since an unbroken 3 year old and they have competed up to 4* together. He has also had some big results over the last few years with Australian Olympic rider Christopher Burton.
One of which, was winning Blenheim Horse Trials in 2017. The following year he was selected for the World Equestrian Games in Tryon-USA where he formed part of the Australian team, helping them gain their 2020 Olympic qualification for Tokyo. More recently in 2019 his career highlight was coming third at the prestigious Badminton Horse Trials. With all the travelling he does, it can be difficult to keep weight on him, especially during the competition season. He has suffered with ulcers in the past and Ease & Excel helps him keep his condition, whilst the low in starch content helps manage any re-occurring gut problems.
Age – 12 (2008)
Height – 17h
Weight – Varies around 630kgs
Body Condition – Moderate – Prone to ulcers and weight loss when competing.
Crunchie is an advanced event horse who has been with Kate for the last year. He is a very laid back character and is a fussy eater. He therefore enjoys a palatable mix which is higher in starch for quick release energy.
Age – 12 (2008)
Height – 16.1h
Weight – Varies around 570kgs
Body Condition – Moderate – Fussy eater with a very laidback attitude.
William is a big weak 5 year old who has a lot of growing and filling out to do. He is busy learning his job as an event horse and loses weight quickly. He needs an increased calorie feed that’s non heating and can be fed 3 or 4 times a day. The Ease & Excel Cube is perfect for weight gain, and with the high oil and fibre content it prevents an exuberant temperament.

Bandit & Jane
The most important members of the team! These little angels are nannies to the big boys so no one is ever left home alone. They will eat anything in sight so they need a calorie-controlled diet.
Age – Bandit 5 and Jane 9
Height – 33 inches
Weight – Varies around 150 -160 kgs
Body Condition – Moderately Fat to Fleshy – Prone to laminitis
Percy is the full brother to Cooley Lands. We will have to wait a few more years yet to see if he will follow in his brother’s footsteps, but he is an exciting prospect for the future. He lives out in a herd with excellent pasture and ad-lib haylage during the winter months. He is fed hard feed twice a day which provides essential nutritional support for muscle and tissue development, whilst helping encourage a steady even growth rate.
